Since first encountering CCO when I came to uOttawa, it has been an exciting time journeying with the Lord, as He has revealed so much about His personal love for me and my identity as a missionary disciple. I went on a CCO Mission to Ireland in 2017, and in 2018, served as the Guardian of the Relic of St. Francis Xavier. These have been profound experiences of taking the opportunity to radically follow His call to proclaim the Gospel. I’ve been able to continue to live this missionary lifestyle every day as a student leader on my campus, and now working in CCO’s Stewardship and Development department, building relationships with the supporters of our movement and journeying with them as they share our vision of seeing young people’s lives being changed by Jesus Christ.

The beautiful thing with the relationship with Jesus that we are all invited to is that He never abandons us, showing us instead that He has marvellous plans for us (Jeremiah 29:11). Now He has shown me yet another step to take in order to follow His perfect plan for me. I can’t wait to continue on this adventure! While it has been a favourite quote of mine for many years, these words from St. John Paul the Great, the patron saint of young people, are becoming more and more real to me everyday, and are words that become real to all of us when we give God permission to be present and work in our lives:

“Life with Christ is a wonderful adventure!”
—Pope St. John Paul the Great

The adventure continues for me, when I go to St. John’s, Newfoundland in May/June 2019, working with a focused team of amazing missionaries from across Canada at the Cathedral Basilica. We will be sharing the Gospel with the people of St. John’s, and equipping the young people in the parish to continue on the work of evangelization after we leave. We are so excited about this mission project, and see St. John’s as fertile ground for sowing seeds of renewal. I can’t wait for this next chapter of the adventure and can’t wait to tell you all about the great ways God will fill our hearts with hope and joy for the mission.

I ask you to prayerfully consider helping me continue responding faithfully to my call to mission by making a tax-deductible donation to my ongoing work with CCO. I thank you in advance for your generosity and prayers – in particular for the young men at the University of Ottawa, that they will encounter God’s personal love for them and that they be raised up as men of exceptional character, multiplying missionaries for the renewal of the world.
