When a CCO student leader and I became friends in my first semester of studies at the University of Ottawa, the way he carried himself inspired me. He shared with me about the authentic joy that comes from living with Jesus at the centre. When he invited me to chose it for myself, I found so much freedom in realizing I did not have to be perfect to earn God’s love. Since then, Jesus has revealed so much about His personal love for me and my identity as a missionary disciple. I went on a CCO Mission to Ireland in 2017, in 2018, I served as the Guardian of the Relic of St. Francis Xavier, and in 2019 spent two months in St. John’s, NL forming local parishioners as missionaries. These incredible experiences affirmed that I am made to be a CCO Missionary for the long haul because, in this mission, my gifts and talents shine and give God the greatest glory.
These words from St. John Paul the Great, the patron saint of young people, have become so real to me ever since I gave Jesus permission to be at the centre of my life and all that I do:
“Life with Christ is a wonderful adventure!”
—Pope St. John Paul the Great
Since graduating from school, the adventure continues for me! After serving as a campus missionary at the University of Victoria, I now have the incredible privilege to lead our campus team at the Memorial University of Newfoundland. The adventure of living my life for Jesus has taken me coast to coast (a few times now), and it’s only just beginning.
ONGOING PRAYER REQUESTS
Please pray for the students at MUN, that their hearts would be open to the awesome joy of a relationship with Jesus! In particular, I ask for prayers that great missionary saints would be raised up through our ministry in St. John’s.
