Mary Helen Youseph

In my early university years, I often felt as though I didn’t belong. To distract myself from this discomfort, I poured myself into my studies and hobbies and sought fulfilment in my accomplishments. However, these distractions never satisfied the hole in my heart which only Jesus could fill. This difficult season was the fertile soil in which Jesus invited me to have a personal relationship with Him. Once I let Him in, He became my best friend and healed me from the lies that I had believed around my identity. He showed me that by following Him, He would lead me to the great plans that He has for my life. I felt a tug on my heart to serve with CCO after discovering its mission to reach young people who find themselves searching for meaning in their university years, as I once did. I want to share with them what I know now — that the answer is, and has always been, Jesus.

My Mission

I am incredibly blessed to be serving as a Campus Missionary at Carleton University! I often see myself in the young person who is navigating campus while trying to understand the deeper purpose that they have been called to. I feel called to journey alongside that young person to help them uncover the Lord’s will for their lives. My prayer is that the Lord will use me to help each person see themselves, and their worth, through Christ’s eyes.
