A Part of the “Young Saints – A Pilgrimage in Rome” during the Youth Jubilee
Deo Gratias! Pope Leo XIV has announced that the canonization of Blessed Carlo Acutis will take place on September 7, 2025.
During the Jubilee of Youth, from July 29-31, 2025, Catholic Christian Outreach (CCO) hosted the Blessed Carlo Acutis Centre in Rome.
The Blessed Carlo Acutis Centre took place at the Chiesa di San Marcello al Corso where more than 25,000 pilgrims venerated the first class pericardium relic of Blessed Carlo Acutis and wrote more than 6000 individual prayer intentions on cards, which were taken to his tomb in Assisi. The site included an information exhibit about Carlo and the Eucharistic miracles that he documented and also featured a number of special events, Eucharistic Adoration, music, youth testimony, and personal prayer. As part of the celebrations for the Jubilee of Youth, CCO along with international partner ministries, are planning for a number of sites or centres based in Churches, each dedicated to a particular Young Saint and a number of additional locations that people can visit in Rome. Pilgrims are invited to conclude by going through the Holy Door at St. Peter’s Basilica and visit the San Lorenzo Youth Centre just outside St. Peter’s Square. This project is being undertaken with the support of the Dicastery for Evangelization and the Jubilee Office.
